Here are answers
to some of your Frequently Asked Questions. For more information on these
and any other questions you have, please contact
us directly.
How do I know
you are a reputable and reliable company to do business with?
We are a full
member of the Cuyahoga
Falls Chamber of Commerce and several other professional organizations.
What is your
policy on spam?
ARC does NOT support
spammers. If you have received a fraudulent or spam e-mail with our e-mail
address or name on it, please be assured this did NOT originate with us.

What cartridges
do you buy back?
Empty laser and
inkjet printer cartridges are like many other commodities and are subject
to current market supply and demand conditions. Consequently, we have a
list
to keep you informed of the cartridges available for buy-back. We will
update this list as necessary to keep you up to date with the cartridges
we are buying at a given time.
How much do
you pay for cartridges?
Empty laser and
inkjet printer cartridge prices are dependent upon current market conditions
and can change on a daily basis. You should contact
us to request our current cartridge buy-back price list at the time
you are ready to sell your empties.
How long are
your cartridge prices good for?
Because of constantly
changing market conditions, cartridge prices are good only for the day
on which you received our price list or the day which you were quoted the
prices. However, pricing usually does not fluctate radically, so pricing
will remain generally the same within a small range.
Do you buy previously
refilled inkjets?
On a few types
we do. Demand for previously refilled inks is less than on brand new ones,
but some still CAN be recycled and will show up on our buyback list. Please
contact
us for details.
When I sell
cartridges to Akron Recycling Center, who pays for the shipping?
If you are selling
150 or more cartridges, we will pay the shipping costs. We use Central
Transport International and Watkins.
For less than 150 cartridges, you are responsible for shipping them to
us and paying the freight cost. Arrangements can be made with US
Postal Service's Merchandise Return Program, UPS's
Authorised Return Service Prepaid Label Program, or Fedex's
Ground Services Program.
How do I ship
my cartridges to Akron Recycling Center?
If you are selling
150 or more cartridges, just contact us and
we will coordinate the shipping with the appropriate carrier. Depending
on the cartridge mix, we will determine whether to use a freight company
such as Yellow
Freight, or a parcel carrier such as UPS.
If you are selling less than 150 cartridges and paying for the shipping,
you can use the carrier of your choice.
Do inkjets count
toward the 150 cartridge minimum?
Yes. As long as
you have 150 cartridges (they can be inkjets, lasers or a combination of
the two) we will pay the shipping costs.
When should
I call Akron Recycling Center to sell my cartridges?
Whenever the cartridges
are ready to ship, you should contact us. In
order to minimize confusion, please do not call us until the cartridges
are packaged and ready to go. In many cases, the pickup can be scheduled
for the next day.
Can I call the
freight company?
Sure. In many
cases, the freight company needs special instructions concerning the time
or location of the pickup so it is easier to get them first hand from you
than second hand from us. You should just contact
us first to make sure that you are calling a freight carrier with whom
we have an account set up.
I don't have
a loading dock. What should I do?
The ideal way
to send us your cartridges is to stack them on a skid and shrink wrap them.
But this method does require a loading dock. If you don't have a dock,
you can tape them in bundles or bulk pack them in larger boxes which can
be easily lifted onto the truck. Look at our Packaging
Suggestions page for more detailed information on packaging your cartridges
for shipping.
What if cartridges
are broken during shipment?
When Akron Recycling
Center buys cartridges, we expect them to be delivered in good condition,
the same way you would expect to receive something you bought and had shipped
to you. If the cartridges are broken because of the way they were handled
by the freight company, we will file a freight claim for the damage. If
the cartridges are broken because they were improperly packaged for shipping,
they have no value to either of us, so we will not be able to pay for the
damaged cartridges. For more information, see our Receiving
page.
If I buy cartridges
from you, how will they be shipped?
We ship out using
Fedex
or UPS Ground.
